You have a charge. Maybe they're on a preplanned route. Maybe you can tell them to hide in a dumpster.
Raiders are peeps who want your charge's blood/oil/parts.
Steps are what a full move is. 30 ft. 6 squares. 40 ft. whatever fits for the gamu.

Your charge is painful to be around. Can't shoulder to shoulder with 'em.

You need to tow your charge around. The paths available are same length, different advantages/disadvantages to 'em.

The normal path is long as fuck and leads into traps. Your charge cannot stop for whatever reason [Time sensitive mission to get 'em to extraction, maybe they're a big gun]. You can cut a path via fighting enemy squads defending destructibles, while also keeping an eye on raiders.
Destructible take a full 3 solid hits. Maybe they're sometimes guarded by anti-single target peeps [evadelords. another duelist who'll leave yours limping back afterwards. swarm.]

Your charge is way stronger than you, but so are the enemies. Work well with your charge to survive.

There's spots your charge can hide in when raiders come. Someone must guide the charge there. It's always 2 Steps away.

The enemy wants your charge alive and won't use their dangerous AoE. Your charge doesn't like being used as a human shield and freaks out, moving away. Need to keep 'em bound to not get omegashelled.

Your charge is very fast, but their route is fixed and long. There's known trapped and ambush areas ahead. You can traverse where your charge cannot. [just that one mission from AC4:FA with the GA trucks]

Your charge doesn't die at 0HP, they berserk. [prototype goes sicko mode for a bit, some escaped alchemy experiment, whatever] 5 Hits, they deal 2 Hits single target, very vulnerable to disabling abilities. [deals 4 hits to 'em if impaired or whatever].

As above, but your charge nukes the battlefield instead. [wrathful god, orbital bombardment beacon triggering a deadman's switch.] You can repair it if you live. There's shelter, some only hold 1.

Your charge must be strung along via waypoints you set. [AI bot. Golem. optics and thermals on a big mech got shot and now they can only RADAR]
