i really like this idea - one of my recent posts got nearly a thousand notifications, and it was cool (i guess) but also i just couldn't stop checking them!

my initial instinct was "nooo my dopamine" which means yes absolutely I can't be trusted and notifications should maybe be slower

though, I'd want to see comments and shares-with-content faster, since that facilitates back and forth dialogue

in reply to @atomicthumbs's post:

I feel ya there. Okay you probably have 99+ all the time but the like spam is getting to me, too (especially after The Incident). I'd much rather see comments and shares with comments highlighted so l cam interact with people

…Maybe even any arbitrary amount. Like 6 hours.
Enough time to let cohost get off my mind entirely.
Including not even showing up even if I manually check my notifications to discourage that hopeless addictive refresh-smashing that sometimes rewards me with a notification.

(..But darn it, I can already see myself just refreshing my fresh posts for comments instead.
Might just make a self-imposed rule that I can only check for comments on fresh posts within the first hour after posting, aa)

Setting to 999999999999 hours could be a way to just practically disable them altogether for people who'd want that.
