I used to work as a software dev in a big, open-office, on the ground floor, with 20-foot ceilings, giant bay windows, and like, garage doors into the space from the rest of the office. It was wildly impractical - no outlets anywhere, echo-y, and lots of glare. But it was reasonably cheap, and kind of nice, you know? Lots of natual light.

Any way, we called that section of the office the Engineering Bay, because all of the software engineers worked there.
