my fav of these is the extremely transparent ploy youtube does with its youtube premium trials where the two buttons say "1 month trial" and "skip trial", which is actually the "no" button but sounds like it's going to charge your credit card immediately instead of giving you a free month

TO CONSENT REPLY OK TO DECLINE REPLY NO THANKS

like i coudln't just say "no" i was mandated to be polite about it and write "no thanks" like i must thank them for the offer to send me spam

i have genuinely quit and deleted programs when they offered no other option but to answer a dialog with a lie. like not often, not as a policy, but when the thing I needed from the app was sufficiently trivial I have just walked out. Real Winners Quit
