one thing i really wish media library front-ends had, especially for ones designed to shared with people, is a content warning system-- specifically a sort of tagging system where an end user can mark certain categories as things to either hide completely or warn them about, while hiding the irrelevant ones from view.
you can do this with tags rn, and its fine, but often content warnings can give away major plot spoilers for people who DON'T need the warning, and I don't want to have to choose between those two groups. this can also get VERY unwieldy VERY fast, especially for more obscure things people might want warnings for (which are still just as important!)
i feel like this kind of feature would be absolutely implemented quickly if as a culture we took content warnings more seriously, but i guess maybe i'll have to wait until a generation that takes things like cws more seriously starts taking over these kinds of projects in force
ETA: oh also, another problem with using the tagging system as is, is i wouldn't WANT this to be searchable. i dont want some asshole that i think is a friend (or, god forbid, a family member, especially one of my younger relatives) to be able to search for every movie with racism or anti-semitism or whatever
