opinions my own & do not reflect those of my employer ;3

for birds + wildlife photography + also tele landscape:

  1. XF 70-300 with the plan to get the 1.4x teleconverter later (unless if I find it bundled in stock)

  2. XF 100-400, to get the full reach I want while not needing a teleconverter

  3. XF 150-600 go crazy go stupid

I have been saying every year that I need to get myself a normal + modern + higher quality long focal length setup and I think I need to finally do it

Read mor e current shituation is trying to do birds & wildlife every fall with nikon 1 v2 + af-p DX vr 70-300 kit lens which is very nicely stabilized and focuses very fast but only with the center point... now that I have fuji camera which has great autofocus and software focus limiter and better stabilization I really should be taking advantage of that

I feel like 100-400 is the best blend here of usability/quality and cost. 150-600 aperture is so small I feel like it's gonna be constraining for some of your spontaneous tele landscape stuff, plus I usually shoot at 120-180 with my 70-210 just to get the compression I want, and so you might be missing out on some use cases with the 150 minimum + the small aperture
