I'm starting to think that just accepting that rent will be higher until I move out in August (at which point it will temporarily get Way Higher Anyway for Reasons) and not trying to find a fourth housemate would be worth the stress reduction

bc literally it's going on four months of trying to find someone and I'm really tired of this

If the higher rent is 30% or less than your income then like, go for it. Personally after years and years of putting up with this I'd just be like "well, I'm next to leave, so like, y'all can work on filling the rooms then. I'm just gonna focus on my own move"

It's very kind of you to be fronting the extra in rent but I think it's only fair that the remaining housemates take up the work of filling the room instead of making that entirely work you have to do when you're also the one fronting for the extra rent. It should be taken off your plate when you already have a lot of other big life stuff on your plate.
