Great news folks the new Raspberry Pi will "only send metadata to the cloud"
[edit: I know it's not as big a deal as it sounds bc the AI part is in a like, recommended software application, but this post still stands bc the current state of computer makes me feel crazy, e.g. "detailed employee analysis" and "preserves privacy" being in the same sentence, combined with "only sends metadata to the cloud" as part of something that someone considers attractive marketing copy]

To be clear that’s apps they intend to run on pi hardware, not any part of the pi itself.
still an example of 'the current state of computer makes me feel crazy' regardless - because that's considered a good thing to say in marketing
It’s a step up from the current status quo of “we are sending video of your face to the cloud”
