Today in trying to find an apartment:
Craigslist landlord responded and told me they need me to submit screenshots of a credit score check from a specific service which they say has a $1 7-day trial.
I sign up for this service, but I don't trust it, since it says it costs $30/month on the website with no mention of a trial, so I use privacy dot com credit card as payment info.
The site says it can't identify me and that my card has not been charged, while charging $29.95 from my card
I replied to the landlord saying the site did not work, asking if we could schedule a tour and do the credit check after, and providing screenshots of my credit score in Rocket Money (it's "good")
Landlord instantly replies saying to use the service they linked to because it's safe
Me: I trust this less now
