disable notification counts and instantly feel reduced pressure to check (or avoid) your notifications
now I know I have notifications but it feels easier to ignore them in favor of reading other posts or even just living my life. one of the benefits of cohost is its (relative) lack of time-based urgency in a perpetually-updating feed—I can respond to comments hours later if I want to and it just feels like a forum post.
