I have a blister on the tip of my pointer finger. I can only assume it's from

Nah yeah I can see that happening, depending on the laptop your TrackPoint™ could be too stiff and tearing up your finger. The one on my Compaq Armada is like Jet Fighter HOTAS Stiff and I can hear my knuckles grind
It's trackpoint bluetooth keyboard and using a third party random chinese replacement because the texture wore down on the original one Plus I used it heavily while moving bc I didn't have a micro usb cable so my mouse ran out of power, so it probably literlaly is from the trackpoint
