Yeah it was either MGBA or VBA and all I remember is I WAS using one of those and then everyone told me to use the other one sdfjklgh
the one that was recommended to you might have been the similarly-named BGB, which some recommend https://bgb.bircd.org/
It was definitely either mgba or vba at that time but I should try that too I guess
