First off… I love that it has them and the iPhone absolutely needs a paste button too, I miss the windows 10 mobile keyboard every day, etc.
That said. The icon on the right says “put this on the clipboard” to me, which is the opposite of what it does. Neither of the icons clearly indicates anything going into or coming out of the clipboard, just things being on top of eachother.
See the icon I made for my color tool https://cervine.online/tools/color for how I think these icons should be designed… clear indication of “putting thing into clipboard” and then another one with maybe an arrow pointing down or to the right to indicate “get this out of the clipboard”
Anyway the iPad and the iPhone also should have an option to have a cmd key, I miss the BlackBerry Key2 every day also
