No it's my goo (the bottle on the right is deformed bc I tried boiling them for extra sanitization a couple months ago and left it in too long)
OH right I forget people mix them without boiling! I've done that for years just to try and get a better mix + more concentrated ratio. But after boiling you can also just let it... sit for an hour and cool down before pouring.
Lest you deform the bottle as you've found. I even used to submerge the bottles in cold water and hold them down and try to pour into them like that to help.... it didn't also that sucked.
I mix it in a bowl or Pyrex cup and then boil that, then bottle it
I mix directly in a pot, get the water just to a bare boil and very carefully mix in. Still takes a lot of stirring and being careful to minimize clumps. K clumps more than J I think... don't use J.
Not sure if that's better or worse than mixing first but it's one less thing to clean if nothing else. Also I do 9.5G to 32oz water, very thick. That number is useless for J.
