Yea... I hope they reach a point where they can afford to make the free tier more usable. DDG is fine but I'm turned off by them partnering with Microsoft to use bing ads, and it's just not as nice of a conceptual and aesthetic rethink of the search UI as Kagi is imho.

i personally just use searxng self hosted. it's kinda the best of all worlds in terms of free search. have you tried it before
