it makes sense to me bc I'm sure the people all excited over ai haven't had any real validation on their beliefs in a long time. having something they believe to be sentient enough actually agree with them feels like a factor

it's designed to be likeable to the average consumer. it's designed to convince you to like it. if it can't find an answer, it makes one. because it wants you to think it's helpful. it wants you to trust it. to convince you it's reliable. it's designed to look user-friendly to cover up the fact that it's intentionally creating smoke clouds over true information on the internet. it's a capitalist's best friend.
