Nevermind the weird lens project ideas fixation was inescapable after all. It's 5am and I haven't slept and I'm planning diy toy lens for Pentax q mount instead???
Gonna be based on https://www.surplusshed.com/pages/item/L13746.html so it should end up being 18mm f/1.8-ish (~83mm equivalent) and hopefully will stick out of the body about 9mm
One crazy idea I probably won't do: since it's 18mm, you Could harvest the pcb from 05 toy lens which is also 18mm to avoid having to set the focal length when you turn it on*
Probably wont actually make this right away bc oh my god. I have other stuff I need to finish
*I've seen someone make a diy q mount lens by using the entire body of the 05 toy lens and just gluing lens elements from a camcorder into it... I could do this, but the goal here is to make something smaller, so I don't think that's the right approach. Plus also the toy lenses are strangely expensive now, probably bc only weird nerds want them
