Anyone who lives in Boston: Do you have any recommendations for where to go for woods/parks? At this point this is my # 1 worry about moving there soon, i'm fucking spoiled by having a really nice dense forest like right next to where I live now, and a bunch of other big natural areas around... I know there's a lot of parks, but every time I've gone to any there have been tons of people - is there anywhere I can go to get away from people and buildings and stuff? Maybe that's unreasonable

I know I won't have the energy to drive places and i like seeing birds and animals and nature that isn't landscaped by people... I'm really afraid I'm going to just spend all my time shut in my room because I don't like city

I like hiking in the Middlesex Fells. A ton of great hiking trails that can go range from a short walk, to hiking around for hours. Some pretty views as well - it's popular so you'll see people quietly hiking, but not buildings.

If you just want to be in dense dense forest where you might not see anyone, you just have to drive further. Maybe an hour drive out and the hikes start being wilderness.

As far as within public transit? Unfortunately not really.

since someone already mentioned middlesex fells I'll also add blue hills, although that can be trickier to get to without a car depending on where you live, the red line might get you pretty close though?
