even as someone who mostly only posts g-rated artwork and has a very cute/"wholesome" brand, bans on nsfw content hurt me too, because they drive away everyone's audiences. the tumblr exodus set me back for years, and honestly, these days, i'd be afraid to draw and post anything spicy anywhere i regularly post, on the basis that some places will ban you even for offsite NSFW now. payment middlemen have way too much power, it's fucking dire and i'm always quietly angry about it. fuck gumroad for lots of other things before but fuck them especially for giving in today. blegh

it's! wild! like it's one thing to look at someone's offsite behavior when making moderating decisions like "should we allow a nazi on our website?" or some shit like that, but banning people who draw porn you don't like that's not even on your fucking website is bonkers

i honestly am not sure, from what i've heard it's basically about being Big Enough To Get Away With It. but i don't know if individual people who do NSFW comms even have a legit option right now that doesn't put them at some kind of risk. 🫠 we love to have free commerce and freedom of speech!!
