I tried replacing the battery in my years old smartphone (because I detest recent smartphones even more than smartphones in general) and broke the screen because ofc, so now I'm left wondering if I should spend more than the cost of the phone on a new screen, get another "refurbished" one for about the same price, or just finally migrate to a normal flip phone
Finally caved and bought a new flagship
Thanks v.v I ended up remembering I had an even older phone with a cracked but functioning screen so I'm just moving to that for now
Unfortunately not at all :\ that's why it's just on the welcome page, it wouldn't open the sidebar with the link to login, and even if I put the url manually it just got stuck on a cohost-branded page that said "loading"
Which is weird because this thing fucking streams youtube videos in browser somehow?? (and the rest of youtube is basically functional too)
out of curiosity, do you use maps/gps on your phone? or do you have a tomtom kinda gps device?
This phone actually has google maps built-in, although I haven't had a chance to use it yet so I dunno how good or accurate it'll be.
A standalone gps would really complete the package tho wouldn't it...
Its a 6300 (chosen solely for its alleged WiFi hotspot capability which is uhh questionable) and yup its KaiOS!

anyways, seems like that runs KaiOS 2.5, so it's more or less got the features of firefox 48 from 2016
EDIT: looks like that chokes on some javascript syntax it doesn't understand, so the scripts needed for login never run. interestingly it's a different error from the one I got on InterWebPPC, even though that's about firefox 45 from what I understand
The hotspot is pretty flakey, it seems to only work when it wants to, although when it works it does work adequately
Hmm that's unfortunate, it would be really sweet to actually be able to chost from this beast
yeah. I do plan to write my own frontend once the public API launches, and hopefully that'll allow a login flow that doesn't require too-modern javascript
