So if you happen to have the Criterion Channel: I'm looking at the list of movies that are leaving the service July 31 and I notice Bacurau and A Scanner Darkly are on there.
Before the month ends I think you should watch A Scanner Darkly (Phillip K Dick, Richard Linklater, Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr, Woody Harrelson AND Winona Ryder!) and I really really think you should watch Bacurau (a fantastic movie about a small town in Brazil that is not exactly sci-fi so much as it just happens to be set about 15 minutes in the future).
Also, "Summer Stock" (1950) is on the leaving list, so something I would like to highly recommend you do is open up this video and skip to 1:16:36. This will only take five minutes of your time, you could do it right now even. The guy in the yellow shirt is Gene Kelly and he's playing the director of a struggling musical that's been in rehearsals. Just trust me on this.
