In recent years I've come to respect Michigan a lot more. The state, the university, and even the university's football team. I've lived in Columbus my whole life, and I've even been an Ohio State student. But I'll root for the Wolverines, as long as they aren't playing the Buckeyes. Which they are, today. Today, I want to see Michigan lose. But I can't bring myself to say bad things about them.
I would have preferred to see Ohio State win of course, and if we'd come from behind with a touchdown on that last drive, it would've been sweet. But if we're going to lose in the regular season, a loss to Michigan is easiest for me to stomach. And this was only technically a regular-season game. The broadcasters called it “the first playoff game of this college football season” and it's not hard to see why.
