today i receive my nice LSI SATA HBA in the mail :) im gonna put it in my server tomorrow. i had a couple HBAs laying around already but they're pretty cheap and outdated -- this one will grant me 8 additional connectors at full sata3 speeds, and they're over SAS cables in case i ever want to get really fancy and hook it up to an external DAS's backplane, as i am starting to run low on physical space for more hard drives in this chassis! if i were to connect all the HBAs i own, i could connect a total of 25 drives. im about halfway there rn and that's given me about 100tb, so hopefully i won't need to upgrade again any time soon @.@
