played around with nixos some more last night, setting up something similar to my current Arch-based home server -- zfs, kvm, qemu, libvirt, vfio, nfs, docker. it is stupidly easy to use. the one thing that gave me grief was cockpit which im used to relying on for browser-based system administration, particularly when messing with my zfs pool. i wasn't able to set up the 3rd-party package for it -- still figuring out the semantics of the configuration language -- but in the end i decided that's not a big deal anyway, since cockpit feels antithetical to nixos' whole paradigm.
