Watched the Utena movie tonight, which means I am officially done watching all things Utena (though I have to play the dating sim now)
My review is that during the ending, as Utena and Anthy slowly move closer to each other, I started up a chant of "GAY! GAY! GAY!" And it ended in a resounding "YEAHHHHH!!!"
So yeah. Good shit.
Utena Movie is one of my unironic faves, because despite its madcap surreality 1) the manga matches the first half exactly 2) wanting to change the second half climax into a fucking car chase, which is literally why the director said they did it, is fucking fantastic and a great use of the fact that it's a movie and you have budget.
