Hi! I'm a big sentimental fan of JRPGs, electronic music, cold coffee, anime, manga, Genshin Impact, etc.

Making a little picross engine in 2003, has a lot of things that need to be fixed up, and some features still need to be added, but it's starting to come along.
(All the art in the picross mode is placeholder, and the bg is edited from some tiles from Kickmaster on NES just to have SOMETHING back there while I work on it)

This is so cool! RM2000 was the version I always used growing up, I had no idea you could do this kind of thing in 2003! Is it difficult to get the engine to do something like this?

Thanks a ton! I grew up with 2003 and it has been stuck in my brain ever since!
You can do a fair amount with it! There are some things added and fixed in the modern steam release to give more capabilities, but I don't think anything shown in the gif are using those things. Theoretically you can do almost anything, but every bit of complexity you add to what you're doing increases the effort required on your part exponentially
I could not count the amount of times I wanted to scream writing some of the events, and reading my work back afterwards is painful!
