  1. i, for the most part, don't really believe in the concept of "guilty pleasures" as it's commonly used. if i enjoy something i just...should enjoy it, you know? i don't have a lot of joy in my life on a day-to-day basis so even if something seems silly, juvenile or otherwise unworthy of attention or praise from the outside, if i find something inside of it to love i don't feel i should feel guilt for that.

(incidentally, i separate the concept of guilty pleasures from finding joy in problematic media. from my understanding guilty pleasures have more to do with perceived quality or aims of the content rather than the text of the content itself)

  1. there are two video games i replay irregularly that i very much enjoy and also feel like a terrible person the entire time i play them. they are Blitz: The League (Midway, 2005) and its sequel, Blitz: The League 2 (Midway, 2008). as such, i consider these games really my only guilty pleasures.
