let me out of this box!!

thinking again about the part in Pentiment with the table of guys who all spoke Italian and one other different language, and my Andreas didn't have Italian under his belt, but he did know every other language at the table. I don't know what that conversation is like when he can join in the Italian conversation, but I did have a fun time being part of a conversation that would occasionally be translated in a different language for me by someone at the table, then being able to respond and have my response translated back into Italian and reacted to in a way that I couldn't fully understand until someone remembered to translate for me again. there was tension not just in how my response would appeal to each guy, but also in how well each translation back and forth would carry the nuances of the original comments. In the end Werner was fucking pissed at me because his friends ended up liking me. what an amazing experience to be found in a funny little painter man simulator
