I always say "a clown and a fool" rather than just fool/foolish/whatever because I like the silly tone it brings. I used it in a personal narrative essay draft with intention to change it to a more serious phrasing before turning it in. just learned today, after already having turned it in as a draft and shared it with a tutor for feedback, that I in fact did not change it
