in the last couple nights, I've put a few hours each into deus ex and invisible war, the latter to remember a game I played a lot of and understood none of as a teenager who only had an xbox and the former as a mystical contraption whose tales I've only heard vague tale of in passing through the digital bards

interestingly, deus ex (original)'s soy snacks are actually allowed to have a scientifically efficient quantity of flavor where invisible war said "no more flavor for your soy" (actual description text, "not a single molecule wasted on added flavor or texture") which I think created a perfect representation, intentional or not, of the decline of product quality under capitalism
