wrt to this week's episode (but also the series as a whole, really), I love how Mitsumi and Shima are shown to have these ways in which they may project themselves onto each other and/or fail to read one another, giving way to these small moments of... just them being human really, drawing from their own experiences and needs in ways that don't necessarily match with what the other person really is thinking, going through or needs; the way they contrast Shima's more relaxed-looking but conflict avoidant tendencies with Mitsumi's deep but also heavy desire to participate in and contribute to community and the people around her (but then, they're still able to help and support each other!). It humanizes them and, through that, it humanizes their relationship in a way i really enjoy.
