I don't really like Twitter as a platform, so it's interesting to me that using "Twitter" as an Otherizing demonym is the largest possible red flag about a person

You'd think that twitter users, of all people, will realize that it's pointless to generalize the most popular social media on earth into a symbol for you to hate. but instead so many people there still say things like "twitter got mad at this!!".
here's my theory for why people like to demonize "twitter" as an entity: it's a way think of yourself as "one of the good ones" instead of admitting you're part of the problem. because i've seen so many twitter users complain about (very legitimate) problems about twitter culture, but they somehow don't realize they're part of the problem and continue to exhibit the behavior they just complained about.
