ok just kidding, both of these statements are wrong. i never liked MIUI, and MIUI isn't dead either - it's rebranding to.......... HyperOS.

look i get what they're trying to do. it's hard to market a name like MIUI, especially with its association with cheapness thanks to Xiaomi's reputation in general.
but MIUI is iconic. if they're throwing away a name as iconic as that, it better be worth it. and i'm not sure "HyperOS" is good enough.
maybe i'll warm up to it in the future, but right now i feel so lukewarm to this name.
