it's from a very interesting video debunking the mario64 cosmic ray theory . i sure hope this is a constructive video that isn't overly hostile towards other people!---except it isn't. of course it doesn't. why the hell am i still trusting youtubers to provide anything new to the table. there is nothing in the video that i already don't know. there's nothing disproving the theory either.but he acts like there is. and he acts like he's above the normies.my favorite moment is 14:43. everyone was waiting for The Moment - answer to the big question - "why is it such a common myth?". and then he, i kid you not, said,||"bad gaming journalism"||||with that infamous "gaming journalist plays cuphead" video in the background.||and then he starts blaming a 2020 article from TheGamer. an article from TheGamer, a site not even the most normie gamer takes seriously. an article from year Twenty Twenty, when the cosmic rays theory is already widespread.and yes. he is not done. he's blaming that veritasium video too. i agreed that derek veritasium isn't clear enough, but this guy just pretended that derek outright claimed that the theory was true. and that video is from 2021, where the myth is already mainstream!?you know what, the entire premise of the video is overly exaggerated. is this the biggest myth in speedrunning? i mean, the problem is that people had to oversimplify it to fit in memes, causing some to actually believe it's proven - but how many? were sm64 experts particularly annoyed at the myth? experts get annoyed by the general audience all the time for only knowing that one thing about their field. the only evidence he showed is that one tweet.---this video is fine. it honestly doesn't deserve a rant like that. i just think the gaming journalism is shockingly bad for a video complaining about bad gaming journalism. if you want to make a bad video, at least don't pretend you're above everyone else.
