Fern ordering the elf fertility spell from Serie after she passes the First-class Mage exam, and then leaving Serie hanging as she goes to find Frieren. Her final rejection of Serie's offer of teaching her, "I just learned how to take care of one freeloader elf-wife, I'm not doing it again."
Frieren having agreed is waiting in the bedroom as Fern bathes herself. A voice calls out, bashful, but still matter-of-factly, because Fern is feeling awkward.
“Ms. Frieren, before we, there’s something I have to… I mean, I love but… it’s about me… I’m…strange…”
“Fern, can I give you some advice? In my 1000 years I’ve seen every possible kind of person, elf, dwarf, even demons naked, so there is nothing strange or unusual about my student.”
Confident, Fern steps out of the bathroom. "Ms. Frieren... here, here I am."
"Fern, you're beautiful. And wow, look at you getting so excited to see me. You've made an old lady very pleased."
"Ms. Frieren, I want to do a lot to you. I don't think I'll be able to control..."
"Fern, let's get in bed now."
Frieren listening to Fern pounding away at her and Fern chanting, “please get pregnant Ms. Frieren, please get pregnant Ms. Frieren” and going into a flashback.
Himmel asked Frieren if she'd ever thought about having a family, Frieren said "no" and went to bed alone that night in a stable. Good rest.
Later on in bed together, Frieren turns over to ask, "Fern, why does 'get pregnant' matter so much to you?"
Fern doesn't turn but she is awake. "Ms. Frieren, it means I want to have a child with you."
"But WHY does that matter so much to you?"
"Ms. Frieren, that's not a polite thing to ask."
"Indulge me, Fern."
Fern pouts, and rolls over in bed to face her teacher. Frieren reflexively smiles at her student's upset face. "Ms. Frieren, I wanted something of me and you, they will be with you, in the future."
"So you're making supermages?"
"Ms. Frieren, now you're making me mad. Good night."
"Heh," Frieren rubs her stomach and smiles. You can never go back in time, but you can make something of the future even if you thought you were too old.
