If your politics are so fragile that someone saying "hey maybe think for two seconds about this topic" or "maybe consider you're not the protagonist of reality" is enough to send you in a fury yelling about cancel culture and SJWs, that's not politics, that's an aesthetic figleaf.

I've really only managed to see the posting about the posting about Orientalism and not the actual posts but just.. man. I like this webbed site but sometimes.. fuck. My fellow white people show their fucking asses like clockwork huh.
There's like three different lowlevel flamewars that all seem to boil down to "I am mad because there's any critique about anything I've ever done whatsoever" but the ongoing discussion about orientalism seems like the main one

Got hit with "talking about Sudan is Israel/Gaza whataboutism" and my head's about ready to explode.
(I know this is about the orientalism stuff but fundamentally it's that same blinkered nonsense)
don't understand how folks can read something like that thread and see themselves reflected in it and not go "I need to be better about this shit, actually"
