every single time i watch lain it gets me that in '98 the near-future internet thing they came up with was "they're going to introduce IPv7", and 25 years later in real life we're still using v4 years after we already pretty much fucking ran out of addresses

As Far As I Know i'm not actually really read up on what they're doing in terms of running out of v4 addresses if anyone has anything to update me on this i'd actually love to hear it lol
