hi. I hate that I know the answer to the last bit. at least on AWS, if the return code isn't 200 but an actual error code, the gateway eats the body and you get zero information about the output. I'm trying to remember if it also eats the actual error code and responds with 500 instead. it's a garbage way to handle things, but if you want your API to be "cloud compliant" you have to be able to put it on lambdas without shit breaking horribly.
frankly amazon should just fix their shit
i have no idea what the vendor i'm working with is using behind the scenes but i have to check for the key "message" to know there was even an error.
