I think there may be something wrong with one of my USB ports.

My computer has been doing this thing lately where all of a sudden my mouse input will slow WAY the hell down and every input from the mouse will make windows beep. I can't find anything in the windows event logs about it but my PCI-e USB card (at one point I had alot more USB devices) had my mouse receiver in it. The only other thing on that card right now is my bluetooth receiver, which was working well enough as this started happening to let me save and quit Yakuza Ishin.

I moved the USB receiver for my mouse to the onboard USB, we'll see what happens

This computer was kind of low-end when I built it in 2018. The processor is a Ryzen 1700X. It's not very good. Maybe I'm due for a new one.

it could be something in a USB port, rather than the USB ports themselves. I had a whole fuckin' thing where I had the ports stop responding and sometimes bluescreen the pc entirely, so often that i sent the motherboard back for repair. it came back same as it went out.

turns out it was my 12 euro microsoft mouse
