Do I trust that the city of Philadelphia is handling the water problem in a safe & transparent manner?
No, not really.
A whole day passed between the spill being known and any indication that it might hit the city of Philadelphia's water supply. Literally any heads up would have been preferable to announcing at 11 AM "Hey, don't use the tap water starting at 3 PM"
The press conference the mayor led at 5 PM today had them dancing around the issue saying shit like "Listen sometimes all you can do is old-school testing" but then avoided saying what the testing revealed!!!! Tell me if the water is safe or not! You can pat your water department workers on the back after!!!! Every store within a reasonable distance of Philly is out of water & will probably remain so throughout the week. When I went to Costco in Cherry Hill New Jersey yesterday this is what the line to check out fucking looked like. The line facing me on the left is the line to get some bottled water.
