i keep looking at the new AMD processors and i can't make it make financial sense to base a new computer around, since the motherboards and ram are comically fucking expensive for socket AM5/DDR5 RAM. maybe the 5700x is going to be enough. the chances of zac upgrading his CPU instead of just building a new computer are basically zilch.

I heard the AM5 CPUs are selling way less than AMD expected almost entirely because it's such a cost prohibitive platform rn
