Players were desperate to pet the dog in Breath of the Wild. I remember people making up headcanon, like, the heart icon that appears when you feed the dog, that means you're petting it even though it's not literally depicted. I can't believe the developers didn't address this in the sequel. Maybe this is an East-West thing. Do they have dogs or petting in Japan??
Do... do you think they held the feature back because they wanted to inspire players to build their own dog petting machines??
Man I think I had to mute “pet the dog” on Twitter when that came out, the energy was extremely moldy
