My new rice cooker has a 'cake' button. What the hell are people cooking in these things now?

Did you know you can cook tofu in a waffle iron? Did you know this makes a big mess that's hard to clean up? Now you know!
I've done this, it's tasty if inexplicable and weird. You basically make up a batch of pancake batter - like with bisquick - and then instead of making individual flapjacks on a griddle, you just pour the whole thing into a rice cooker and run it for one cycle. Unmolding the result can be slightly tricky but that's all there is to it. Last time I did it I used orange juice and cocoa powder and was shocked when it actually tasted like a chocolate orange.
Aha, thanks for sharing some actual experience with this function! I'll probably try it at some point out of pure curiosity.
This is everything I was going to say on the subject and more. Hi, we're those people who make thick pancakes in rice cookers!
