anyway Apple is supposedly trying to set a minimum bar for VR which they consider acceptable, and bring the price down in the next few years. and also, you know, integrate it into normal glasses instead of a big ass headset. this is going to be the product they wanted to release in like...6 years?

the Vision Pro has literally 10 times as many pixels as the Valve Index, which should hopefully completely kill the screen door effect. and it's micro-OLED, so it's proper HDR. the screens are genuinely impressive.

but yeah this is not meant to be an approachable everyday product for the next few years. this is meant to be a "aspirational" halo product. And Apple makes good use of those, it uses the actual demand and setting up the factory lines to severely drive down price in short order. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy this unless they need to for their job. you'll be able to get one for a much better price in two years. (probably still not a reasonable price tho, but a better one.)
