I don't really have much interesting about this, but I did go to high school in northern new jersey, which meant we got the occasional weapon confiscation AND my high school had a planetarium (RIP to the planetarium, which was removed and sold to a local farm/history museum combo tourist trap after the astronomy teacher retired). other schools used to come to my high school for field trips, a couple of times a year there would just be strange students from elsewhere in north jersey in the science hallway.
one of my biggest post-high-school regrets is not taking astronomy senior year. apparently anyone who took that class got to see a pink floyd laser light show in the planetarium on the last day of school
