Complete:
- Physical machine build and OS installation
- Install and configure samba
- Install and configure sshd
- Install and configure a zfs raidz1 pool
- Generate SSH keys and distribute them around the house for hot hot passwordless login action
- Install conda and set up some conda environments
- Set up the cron job that checks the health of the ZFS Pool and pesters me if there is a problem over telegram - IT WORKED
- Install and configure Plex
- Install and configure MS SQL Server
- Install and configure fail2ban
- Figure out how to port over my sabnzbd install
- Configure a static IP for this computer in my router's DHCP client list.
- Install and configure nginx and by extension flask using gunicorn - While this was fine, one of the things I needed for my setup were the MS SQL Server Unix ODBC drivers, which was a huge pain. Finally solved it after a few hours of troubleshooting.
To Do:
- SFTP over all my media collection (last time this took seven days of uninterrupted file transfers)
- Install and configure the "official" nvidia drivers that require me to turn off secure boot
- Set up the cron jobs for all my other bots
Catharsis:
- Take the drives out of the QNAP NAS, keep them as cold spares, throw the NAS itself into the Schuylkill river.
It's a long way to go, but most of it is going to be the file transfer, and I really don't want to set up the new plex instance until everything is transferred.
