Looking at some of these integration options in homeassistant and going "whats the most unhinged thing i could do" and i think starting the robot vac when jerma starts streaming is currently the top contender.

It's Home Assistant, which is meant to be an open-source bridge between all the competing smarthome technologies. So it does support Google Home and such. Most of my smarthome stuff is Z-Wave OR had integrations I didn't think about beforehand. All it took was a raspberry pi, a z-wave usb receiver stick, and an afternoon.
Ooh, that definitely seems like something worth looking into then, thank you! ... especially considering I've thought about grabbing light bulbs a few times but didn't want to end up mixing and matching and ending up with dozens of different apps
