High color temperatures suck. I moved into this house and had 5000k flat ceiling lights. I had to replace them, I felt like I was sitting in a hospital waiting room.
Shortly after I moved in the city replaced the yellow low pressure sodium streetlights that were out in front of the house with ones that are bright white LED's. I had blackout curtains but they're not perfect, light gets in through the sides, and honestly my ability to sleep is pretty frail as it is so I'm not happy about it.
yeah i like very bright, high colour temperature, high CRI task lighting (kitchen, workshop etc.) and dim, low colour temperature everything else.
