I think one of the reasons people don't like Sonic Adventure, in addition to the Dreamcast Had Poor Sales & the DX version that came out on Gamecube being sort of a mess is that Sonic Adventure 2 was such a huge step up from SA1 that everyone forgot how much everyone enjoyed Dreamcast SA1 at the time.

Both games are good. I actually sorta prefer the hubworld idea in SA1, it may have been a little janky but it gave me a cool world to explore between levels.

i dug both games on Dreamcast. didn't even have that much of a problem with the emerald hunt levels at the time.

I bought a Dreamcast in like, 2003 and got SA1 and it was good! I think I actually beat it. Never played SA2. Heroes on though...those were not as good imo. I enjoy Forces and want to get Frontiers after the price drop.

Thank you for this ridiculously detailed and informative post, as well as the link to the mods, I loved the dreamcast games and they've have been harshly reviewed in the modern age, glad to see some truth being spoken.

I always thought the rough transition was talking about the way that 3D Blast was so effective at triggering motion sickness in people
