so at thanksgiving my mom was like "you seem to be the only one that likes pumpkin pie, why dont you bring one" so i go to Acme and I buy one and I shove it in my freezer until the big day.I show up, hand them the pie and my mother goes "This has to be baked" and I go "Uh yes??? You have an oven" Of course I hadn't read the instructions and didn't see that it needed to cool for two hours because people who eat cold pumpkin pie are, generally speaking, living a life I cannot envision for myself. So we go through the whole day, turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, carrots, cranberry sauce, you know, the usual thanksgiving dinner stuff. And after watching Despicable Me on TBS (probably), the pie is out of the oven and I discover the rest time thing. Well, after about 30 minutes of cooling we say fuck it and eat anyway and guys my family LOVES warm pumpkin pie. They were living in an alternate reality where pumpkin pie was cold and unpleasant.

I'm always walking away from thanksgiving with about 6 uneaten slices of pumpkin pie that nobody else wanted. This year the pie was GONE instantly.
